New Jersey Weekend

After a lot of talk of a long overdue visit to New Jersey to see Sarah, Andy, and the girls, Ted and I finally made it happen at the beginning of August. The best part was that Katy, David, and their kiddos made the trek north for the weekend as well. As usual, we had no specific plans, spent lots of time hanging out, and had a blast.

Tons of pool time!
What's better than waking up and getting to play with your friends in a pool right after breakfast?! Even better is that it was a Friday and everyone was off of work!

Endless entertainment...repeated attempts to catch a football (thrown by Ted) midair before landing in the pool
The morning swim wore everyone out so some tv time in the afternoon was in order. Ted fit right in with the kiddos.

Our afternoon entertainment was a cotton candy machine! Having not grown up with one of those around my house, I was quite impressed with Sarah's cotton candy making skills.
Ball of sugar = happy kiddos
Sarah's sister, Beth, who was my roomie is college, made the trip down to visit with her two boys. After many trips to New Jersey and missing her, I was so glad to finally catch up on life in person and to meet her two cute boys.
Me with sweet Lucy Lu...I was so glad to finally get to see her and squeeze her!

Day two together was similar to the first. Pool in the morning, fun activities in the afternoon.
Sarah found an orange watermelon at a local produce stand. It was a huge hit!
Adoring Moms and photographers
After the morning swim and some middle of the day downtime, we headed to the boardwalk to see the sights, have dinner, and give the kids some time to enjoy the amusement rides.

Ted, of course, couldn't miss out on an opportunity to place a boardwalk game...and win a prize!
After walking and riding and a full day of fun, the kiddos started to wilt before we had had a chance to grab some food.
But once our bellies were filled, the kids perked up and we enjoyed some ice cream and other sweet treats before playing on the beach at sunset.

All the kiddos!

After awhile, Ainsley was having a hard time holding up Lucy.

My sweet friends from college who I've been blessed to know for 15 years!

A beautiful evening on the beach was a great way to end our weekend together. We had so much fun with everyone and it was a bonus to see both of Sarah's sisters and families as well. The only thing better would be if we lived a little closer! As always, I was sad to leave and am already looking forward to the next visit.
